How to do the meditation...

• Posture: Sit cross-legged on the floor with a tall spine (or you can sit on a cushion, or on a chair with both feet on the ground).

• Mudra: Hands in Gyan Mudra, tip of thumb and index finger gently touching, backs of hands on thighs.

• Eyes: Gently closed, mentally focused between your eyebrows.

• Breath and Movement: Through the nose, inhale in 3 equal parts, mentally repeating the mantra Sat Nam each time.

Gently hold the breath in as you turn your head over your right shoulder.

Exhale as you slowly turn your head back to center and mentally chant Wa He Guru.

Inhale in three equal parts, SatNam SatNam SatNam. Hold the breath in as you turn your head left.
Exhale slowly back to center, Wa He Guru.

Keep going for 4 minutes.

Then stretch your legs out in front of you, hold on to your toes or rest your hands on your thighs or shins. Let your head relax forward.

Focus all your energy at between the eyebrows.

Hold this posture for 2 minutes.

• To End: Inhale and slowly rise up, shake your arms and exhale.

Meditation For Creating Peace - Within You and Around You

No matter how turbulent the times or your thoughts, you always have access to peace, and the key to getting there is your breath and your presence.

Our Peace meditation will cultivate peace within you so you can radiate this peace into the world.

As the Dalai Lama said, "The planet does not need more successful people. The planet desperately needs more peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers and lovers of all kinds.”

This meditation will support you in being one of the peacemakers and healers.

Note: It is most beneficial if you practice this meditation every day. You might feel lots of pressure in your forehead, that's totally ok. Keep going.

The Mantras Sat Nam and Wahe Guru combined connect you to your deep inner truth and to the infinite peace of the Universe.

There's a lot going on in the world right now and some of that turmoil might be reflected in your thoughts and emotions.

Peace might seem like a far-off concept, but it is possible.

Peace begins with us, with you and me, and that's why I'm sharing this meditation for the month of March.

Let's cultivate peace on the inside and then radiate it out into the world. Every person you meet, every interaction and every word you speak will promote peace.

That's how we change the world, one person and one action at a time.

I'm looking forward to being peace with you!

Frequently asked questions

What if I can't sit cross-legged on the floor??

Yes. That's totally fine. You can sit on a chair, the edge of your couch or bed. Just make sure that you're not leaning back but keeping your spine tall.

Is chanting religious?

No. You can practice this meditation no matter what religion you belong to. The mantra creates a healing vibrational pattern in your body and mind. This works whether you understand the meaning or not.

What if I'm new to meditation?

Welcome! This is a great meditation to start out with because you don't have to "turn off" your mind. Take it slow and stay steady.

I'm too busy to meditate every day, now what?

We make time for so many things in our lives. Maybe it's time that you prioritized yourself. Give it a try.
