Blog Post #7 - Calm Mind Breathing

7. Calm Your Mind

Your thoughts just won’t shut up? That inner critic is raging? You wanna put your brain in time out?

Well how about some peace of mind in 3 minutes as you discover a simple breathing meditation that the Buddha gave to his disciples to tranquilize their minds.

And if it’s good enough for the Buddha well…Give it a try.

Step-by-step instructions for this Kundalini Yoga meditation for a calm, peaceful mind. Also known as Man Suhaavee Mudra Kriya.

Instructions:

  • Mudra:
    Curl ring finger and pinkie
    Touch tips of thumbs together
Touch tips of middle fingers together
Curl in index fingers so the middle parts touch (it looks like a heart).

Hold this Mudra 10 cm (4 inches) from your heart space, pointing forward.
  • Eyes, slightly open, focused at the tip of the nose
  • Inhale for 1 repetition of the verse
Suspend the breath in for 1 repetition of the verse
Exhale for 1 repetition of the verse
Suspend the breath out for 1 repetition of the verse.
  • Continue for 3 minutes.
